The Automated Access
The Welsh Padel Centre is designed to be a fully automated facility. Access is via a camera controlled gate. To the left of the front gate you will notice the camera:
If shown a correct access code this camera will unlock the gate allowing you access. This page describes how to generate a code and use it
Getting a Code
To get a code you must be a member or have registered on the booking system and have been added to a booking by a member, and have an internet enabled smart phone. The code is generated in the Acebook App or via a mobile browser.
To get a code via a mobile browser, simply open your phone's browser, go to the booking system (opens in a new tab), log-in and locate the green 'Open Gate' button. Click this and a code will be generated. Present the code to the camera as described below.
To get a code via the app (see below for installation instructions ), simply open the app (you will need to log-in using the same details as for the online booking system), select the 'Open Gate' option and a code will be generated. Present the code to the camera as described below. See below for screenshots.
Presenting the Code to the Camera
Having generated a code (as described above), present this to the camera. Your phone should be held about 300mm (i.e one foot) away from the camera. There should be a bright white light and, if the code is recognised and valid, the camera emits a low beep. You may hear the gate lock click - if not, pull the gate towards you (i.e. close it more) and this should release the lock. The lock will stay open for around 15 seconds and there will be a green light inside the camera (not visible in daylight).
Notes: (i) if there is direct bright sunlight you may need to use your body to shield the glare so the camera can see the code, (ii) at night you may need to use your phone's torch to activate the camera (i.e. get the bright white light) before presenting the code, (iii) if it is raining heavily clear any rain from the camera (there is a clear plastic sheet across the camera - wipe this) and (iv) do not hold the phone too close to the camera.
Each code is valid only once and cannot be re-used. You must generate a code each time you want to unlock the gate.
Exiting
To exit press the release switch on the outside of the white electrical box. You may hear the gate lock click - if not, push the gate away from you (i.e. close it more) to release the lock. The lock will stay open for around 15 seconds.
In the event of a total power failure, the lock will not work and there are instructions in the clubhouse on how to exit.
Installing and Using the App
In your phone's Play Store or App Store search for the 'Acebook' app (noting that the search will try and guide you to Facebook and you need to force the search to Acebook):
