What is it?

The Welsh Padel Open 2025 is an LTA approved Grade 2 padel tournament being run by the Welsh Padel Centre over the weekend, 31st May - 1st June. The tournment will be run to LTA guidelines and comprises two categories:

  • Mens Open
  • Ladies Open

Entries are limited to 16 pairs for both the Mens Open and the Ladies Open. Entry fee is £20 per person (£40 per pair). There will be a trophy for the winners and runners up in each event. As this is an official LTA approved event, certain rules and terms conditions are mandated by the LTA. Please view the tournament on the LTA website (opens in a new tab) for details including the LTA rules governing the tournament.

Who can enter?

The Welsh Padel Open is open to all entrants. However, all players must be registered with the LTA (this is free). This means that both players in a pair must have an LTA Advantage number and enter via the LTA competition system.

Also note that, in the event that a category is oversubscribed, LTA rules means applicants are considered in the following order: players with an official FIP padel ranking; players with an LTA padel ranking; and then, strictly in the order of registration from earliest to most recent (note: the date/time of registration is taken as the date/time of the last player of the pair registers).

What is the format?

The Welsh Padel Open will follow a traditional tournament format. Seeds will be allocated based on FIP & LTA rankings and then pairs drawn to determine their location in the table. The scoring format will be two full sets (to 6 games) with a 'traditional' tiebreaker at 6-6 to seven points. If tied at the end of two sets, the third set will comprise of a match tiebreaker to 10 points.

How do I enter?

Enter via the tournament page on the LTA website (opens in a new tab). Note that, in accordance with LTA regulations, the entry opens on Friday 8th April. The closing date for entries is Friday 10th May.
